At Jenny Wren Nursery we use Tapestry online learning journals to record children’s learning and development.
A record of children’s learning and development will be available for parents and carers to log in to from a computer, tablet or smartphone. They can then keep up to date with children’s learning at nursery. Parents and carers will be able to see photographs, videos and examples of their child’s work as well as checking which developmental milestones they have reached. Parents and carers can also upload photographs, videos and comments from their child’s time at home, we are then able to work together, as a team, to further their development.
The programme helps us to co-ordinate children’s learning and development. It also supports us to work in partnership with parents and carers. This helps us all to achieve the best possible learning outcomes for the children.
Tapestry builds a very special record of a child’s experiences, development and learning journey through their Early Years and Primary Education. Using photos, videos and diary entries, a teacher or Early Years practitioner, along with the child’s parents and carers, ‘weaves’ the story of the child and how they are growing and developing.
The Tapestry platform then works seamlessly to enable these memories to be kept as a permanent record of each child’s unique journey. All data that is entered onto Tapestry is stored securely. If you are interested in finding out more information about this, you can go to https://tapestry.info/security. Parents and carers are able to view online their child’s progress, whilst also uploading their own comments and media.
